Chatterbox / The Healing Project
The Healing Project was delighted to have been awarded a grant from the Welsh Government to deliver a series of community workshops that ran from January to March 2026.
These workshops celebrated the rich cultural diversity of Wales, bringing together people from a wide range of backgrounds in a welcoming and creative environment.
Women and young girls from the community were invited to take part in a series of eight workshops, where participants will work collaboratively to create handmade floor cushions. Throughout the sessions, attendees learnt and explored a variety of creative techniques, including pattern drawing, batik, screen printing, and embroidery.
Feedback from participants attending highlighted how relaxing and enjoyable they found the experience, reflecting the calming and supportive atmosphere the workshops aim to create.
Chatterbox is open to all Muslim Women Artists who are looking to develop a network and find a space to share creative skills. It includes a whatsapp group, to share creative opportunities, and ad hoc creative sessions. Chatterbox meets in 1a Inverness Place, or online. It is run and supported by Nasima.
The Healing Project came out of Chatterbox, when members wanted a specific place to process events in Palestine. The group collectively holds space, and makes work around the process of healing together. It is supported by Nasima, and meets both online and in person. In 2024 The Healing Project held an exhibition of work at g39 Gallery.
The activities from the Healing Project are open to all women to attend.
