Many languages, one community event

Climate cooks were thrilled to recently be asked to take part in the Many Languages, One Community event, in Riverside. The event was organised by Let's Interpret, who offer training, support and work experience to bi/multilingual women who are interested in becoming interpreters.

The event took place on 28 March, to celebrate the many different languages spoken in Cardiff, and Climate Cooks delivered a delicious spread of sweet treats and chai for 120 people.

Shabnam, Khadija and Tawhida are pictured here, ready to meet the hoards!

Climate Cooks are a group of women with experience of the asylum system, and mostly we meet up to socialise, share skills and enjoy eating together. However on occasion we share these skills more widely! We were really pleased to be able to take part in this event due to additional funding from the Gwendoline and Margret Davies Charity, which enabled us to hire the kitchen, cover materials and pay for the lovely Climate Cooks time.

If you have an event you would like to speak to us about please do get in touch - info@pamcommonartcollective.org
